Northern countries, of course we want to have glass facing to South, for harvesting sunshine. Even here, summer can be hot,
the sun can be beating in summer, so a house would easily overheat. So besides making
the big parts of the glass to the South, you want shading. So a good idea is to have over-hanging structures,
what also protects the construction, make it more long-lasting. So the winter sun
will easily go to the glass, but the summer sun will be shaded off,
at least partly. This is something that is so simple, but still very often disrespected.
