How do grid-connected PV systems work?
Australia has a very high solar PV penetration in dwellings. The state of
Queensland had more than 30 percent drawings with rooftop solar assistance
by 2017. Solar panels generate direct current electricity from sunlight. Next
step, inverter changes DC electricity into AC electricity that’s the
electricity form we get from the network. The electricity out of the inverter is
connected to the user side of the meter. If PV generation is larger than local
consumption, we export electricity to the grid.
If PV generation is smaller than local consumption, we need buy electricity from
the grid. I aim for continuous improvement. Please let me know if you have any
comments. Thank you.
