001 – La métaphore du verre d’eau


Hello, I’m Philippe Wozniak
practitioner specializied in the management of stress and emotions. this week I spend some
days in southern France. And I can tell you that here,
even in the morning, it’s hot. And when it’s hot like this,
it’s a good idea to drink a lot of water to rehydrate. Well, this morning, while I was
drinking my glass of water I was thinking about something and
I thought it would be nice do a little video to share it with you. If you take this glass of water, what do you think? How much can this glass weigh? I would say almost a hundred grams this is not very heavy. It means that if you take this glass
of water to drink And you put it back on the table It is no problem. But if you try this exercise :
take the glass And hold it at arm’s length for a while What is going to happen? In the beginning, We will have no problem,
but as time goes by it will become more and more difficult the glass will seem heavier and heavier Simply because our muscles
will start to be tired, Because they are not used to
this kind of exercise So in the beginning pain will be bearable with some efforts, we’ll be able
to hold this glass in front of us But if we stay that way for a longer period
if we hold the glass for several minutes Tens of minutes Or even several hours The pain will intensify Growing, increasingly to the point where Our muscles will become completely numb And because of the pain,
we won’t be able to hold the glass any longer And our arm will simply drop! Yet, it was just a small one hundred grams glass Which is not heavy in itself But as we saw It’s not the absolute weight of the glass
that is important. but it’s what we do with it. Well, this glass of water can be compared to stress The stress we feel every day at work, at home In different situations of life All those negative emotions that we can feel anger, sadness, fear Or helplessness. When the stress is limited in time, There’s no problem.
Our body can manage it very well. Like when you take the glass just to drink And you put it back on the table immediately however If we keep this stress for a longer time And we rehearse it, we think about it Hour after hour, day after day Month after month Then, this stress will get more and more
importance. It will weight more and more, just like this
glass that we hold at arm’s length that becomes heavier. And if we continue to hold to that stress
and to those negative emotions That we keep them inside of us for a very long time
, Just like when we keep the glass at arm’s length Then, the effect of this stress Will start to multiply,
increasing more and more We will feel more and more pain,
more and more fatigue more and more suffering And that, up to the point where Our body won’t stand it anymore And as the arm drops the glass, Our body will simply break down! we can fall into a depression we can make a burnout Or even sometimes become suicidal. To avoid those situations, we have to let go of negative emotions and of stress Well, easier to say than to do, you will say… Actually many people do not know how To let go of stress and emotions Because this is not taught in schools… unfortunately Yet there are many techniques Allowing to regain control of our emotions To let go of stress Like for example FasterEFT

But if you keep it for a long time They will grow, they will gain weight They will start to make you suffer So do the right thing and put the glass
back on the table. You will see that you will feel better Both physically and mentally Well, that is what I wanted to share
